Symbolism behind Eagles song Hotel California?

In the song Hotel California by the Eagles, I know it has some secret meaning behind it. It might be a reference to drugs, but have also been told that the Eagles were devil worshipers and that it's a reference to Hell. Does anyone know the truth?
