How is life in Reno, Nevada?

I guess it would depend on how old you are. Reno is a pretty nice place and except for the casino area, is a family oriented town. There's decent shopping (not great- but okay) and there are a few things to do (not like in a big city, but not too bad) You are close to Lake Tahoe for beaches, skiing and hiking and other outdoor stuff. Sacramento is a 2 hour drive if you want bigger city stuff and San Francisco is 4 hours away. There is also Virginia City to explore and Carson City, the State Capitol. You'll be fine!
